Mia's Dad Is Moving Book
Mia's Dad Is Moving Book
It's autumn and it often rains. You slip on wet leaves when you walk to school. I'm in first grade and my name is Mia. I'm sad because my mom and dad fight with each other, mostly in the evenings when they think I can't hear. They think you don't notice that they're arguing, but you do notice.
With absolute pitch, seven-year-old Mia's everyday life with dad weekends, longing, and new family constellations is depicted during the first year after the divorce. The book is Gunilla Bergström's debut, and it caused quite a stir, which even reached beyond the country's borders, when it was first published in 1971. During the work on Mia's Dad Moves Out, the idea of a little boy who doesn't want to go to bed was born - an idea that came out the following year in the form of the book Good Night, Alfie Atkins. The rest is history.
